palisades chair
Taking inspiration from Art Nouveau designer and architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh and how his concept of tall back chairs create privacy within an open space. This chair uses horizontal repetition stacked vertically, and is approachable to sit from two sides or at an angle. 19.5”l x 19.5”w x 59”h.
The construction of the chair uses mortise and tenon joinery. Precision was accomplished through the use of a jig to assist in lining up all the connection points. The seat is more upright and meant for brief moments of relaxation and conversations.
